The AiR Committee has been hard at work for the past year. Following our call to artists, the committee received 8 submissions from artists. After screening the submissions to determine they met all required criteria, the committee narrowed the applications to 5 remaining.
A "Reveal" Event was scheduled for October 2024, where all 5 of the submissions were on view at the Village Library with the artists present to answer the public's questions. Each artist was able to display story boards depicting their art. Comments were recieved by the public and the response was overwhelmingly positive. There were two of the submissions which received the most favorable comments. These two submissions were selected for the first round of art on VOC roundabouts. Following this selection, the committee has been creating the proper contracts to be signed by the artists, the SVP leadership and the Red Rock Road Enhancement Maintenance Division. RRREMD will be the agency to actually maintain "ownership" of the art once installed. The committee and these two agencies are working with ADOT on approval for the art and installation in the future.
